I’ve done some research on the mandoos and other dowry boxes that have been used in Emirati culture for the Miksaar ceremony. Also, I’ve researched a cloth in which the bride’s dowry is displayed, called "Matrah" مطرح. Traditionally the Matrah is red, and is also used as the bride’s bedding once she marries. I’m toying with the idea of this red symbolism and how to display the stories I’d like to tell through it.
