يتميز شهر رمضان المبارك بكونه شهر الخير والعطاء الذي يسعى فيه المسلمون لفعل الخيرات في جميع أنحاء العالم، كما يقضي المسلمون جل أوقاتهم فيه بالتعبد والصلاة، وبالتجمع على موائد الإفطار، ويتسابقون فيه لعمل الخير أينما كان.

هذا ويتم إحياء ليالي رمضان بجموع المصلين من الرجال والنساء الذين يتوجهون للجوامع من أجل أداء صلاة "التراويح"، وهي صلاة مقدسة عند المسلمين كونهم يؤدونها فقط خلال شهر رمضان. وقد قام مشروع #ابحث_رمضان بإدراج العديد من الصور التي تظهر المسلمين أثناء أدائهم للصلاة خلال مختلف أوقات اليوم، وفي مواقع مختلفة، وتظهر إحدى هذه الصور مجموعة من المصلين الرجال، بينما تظهر أخرى أحد الجوامع المكتظة بالمصلين لدرجة أن الأحذية أصبحت تسد مدخل الجامع بالكامل.

يجتمع الرجال بأعداد غفيرة في الجوامع من أجل أداء الصلاة عند سماعهم للأذان، وذلك بخلاف أي شهر آخر لمدى أهمية وقدسية شهر رمضان بالنسبة لهم، حيث نجد الجوامع مكتظة في جميع الأوقات، وصفوف المصلين مكتملة، ما يدفع الرجال للإسراع نحو الجامع للصلاة في وقت أبكر من المعتاد.

كما سلط مشروع #ابحث_رمضان الضوء على القيم التقليدية والثقافية المرتبطة بشهر رمضان المبارك في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، فمن السهولة بمكان رؤية شراب "فيمتو" وأطباق الحلويات العربية على مائدة كل أسرة خلال هذا الشهر المبارك، وهي مواد ذات قيمة خاصة جداً بالنسبة لسكان دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، كونهم من النادر ما يتناولونها باقي أشهر السنة.

وعليه، فإن شراب فيمتو يظهر في متاجر السوبرماركت قبل حلول شهر رمضان، كما يحتل المسحّر الذي يقوم بإيقاظ المسلمين من أجل تناول وجبة السحور مكانة متميزة في تاريخ دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.

لقد نجح المساهمون في إنتاج مشروع #ابحث_رمضان في إبداع صور رائعة مليئة بأشكال الحياة، وبسرد رواية تدور حول نقطتين رئيسيتين، وهما التقاليد والشعائر الإسلامية.

Ramadan is an enriching month filled with good deeds practiced by muslims across the world. The UAE’s Ramadan vibe is filled with prayer, iftars, and charity giving wherever one may be. The month becomes alive the most during a special congregational prayer men and women perform daily at the mosque titled "Taraweeh." This prayer is sacred to muslims because it only occurs once during the year and that is during Ramadan.

#FIND_Ramadan included many prayer photos that showed muslims praying during different times of the day and in different locations. One photo also included a group of men praying, while another image displayed an overcrowded entrance to a mosque with shoes blocking the door. Muslim men specifically gather for each call of prayer unlike any other month because of how essential and holy Ramadan is to them. Mosques are overcrowded at all times, and rows are easily filled, making men rush to prayers earlier than usual.

Another strong focus of #FIND_Ramadan was traditional and cultural values pertinent to Ramadan in the UAE. Iconic objects such as Vimto, and arabic sweets are things that are easily found in each household during the blessed month. The value of these items are quite special to people living in the UAE, because of how rarely they’re used up throughout the whole year. Vimto only shows up in supermarkets right before Ramadan, and then reappears again the Ramadan after. Historical traditions as well, such as the Ramadan Drummer who woke up Muslims for suhoor, also hold a meaningful place in the UAE’s past. Contributors who participated in #FIND_Ramadan produced lively colorful images with a story revolving around the project’s two main focuses—tradition and islamic practices.

فيمتو صار جزءا من كل رمضان. تم تصنيعه في عام 1908 واحضر إلى المنطقة في عام 1928 و صار منذها مرادفا لكل وجباتنا الرمضانية. فيمتو: حلاوة المشاركة.

يعتقد أن أصل العلاقة بين الفانوس ورمضان تعود الى العصر الفاطمي وتحديدا من القاهرة. حيث يقال ان أهل القاهرة و في احدى ليالي رمضان، استقبلوا الخليفة المعز لدين الله بالمصابيح المضيئة.

The tradition of the lantern as a decoration becoming associated with Ramadan is believed to have originated during the Fatimid Caliphate primarily centered in Egypt, where the Caliph Al-Muizz Lideenillah was greeted by Egyptian people holding lanterns to celebrate his arrival to Cairo during a Ramadan night.
